hi. i'm giselle.

Both my personal and professional lives have been inspired and shaped on farms and in kitchens around the world. Every endeavor has at its center a person, a plate, or a meal with a story to tell. And I'm so super into those stories. Sometimes I carry a camera in hand, sometimes a pen, and sometimes a spatula.

I have worked as a documentary filmmaker, photographer, graphic designer, event designer, and writer. In the Fall of 2018, I will (intend to) complete a Master's degree in Gastronomy at Boston University. Learning to be a researcher to test my bounds of curiosity has informed and affected my storytelling practice. My research is focused on the ways in which we, as complex, big-hearted, instinctual humans, express home and identity through food. My work is focused on celebrating deliciousness and the role of a damn good meal in our lives.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I'm half Lebanese and I think about Beirut constantly. I have a long-standing love affair with Argentina. I unpack my gypsy bags in Hood River, Oregon, in a pretty dreamy little home that I share with my man and our cat.

I'd do almost anything for a plate of fresh Peruvian ceviche. Tomatoes are my favorite fruit. I've been dancing since I was 8. I have nostalgic feelings about Snoop Dogg. I really, truly love the feeling of sea salt in my hair. I'll order anything on a menu with goat cheese in it.
